Evidence file · open to anyone
Was it real when it was taken?
KolTheia seals a photo in the camera, the moment it is taken, and keeps only the proof. Anyone can check a file against that proof. Try it with any photo or video you have.
What KolTheia keeps
Not your photo. When you press the shutter, your device fingerprints the picture and signs that fingerprint with a key that never leaves it. KolTheia files the proof and hands the photo straight back to you. The record is a few hundred bytes. For a video, KolTheia also keeps a small note about its pictures (a coarse description, about 180 KB a minute) so it can recognise a copy and say what was done to it; it is not a copy and cannot play the video. So there is no copy of your photo or video to leak, sell, or be made to hand over.

Every answer it can give
One honest verdict per file. KolTheia can prove a file is real. It never claims one is fake.
- Verified captureThis exact file was sealed by a real device and has not changed since.
- Edited, with a recordChanged after capture, and a signed edit history says which tool did it.
- RecompressedA video that is not the original file, but whose picture matches a real KolTheia capture everywhere it looked: it was recompressed, and it says what else it found (resized, cropped, shortened).
- Altered, but tracedNot the original file, but it traces back to a real KolTheia capture. For a video it says what was found: a filter (fine) or something introduced in one place (look at it).
- AlteredA record exists, but this file does not match it, and nothing traces how it changed. Do not trust it.
- Content CredentialsSigned by another maker's camera or app (Pixel, Samsung, Sony, Leica). Their record, not KolTheia's.
- Not verifiedNo record and no credentials. That does not make it fake; nothing vouches for it.
- Signature invalidA record exists, but its signature no longer checks out. Do not trust it.
Had it first? Register it
Not every file comes from the camera. A script, a song, a design, a photo you already took: register it and KolTheia records that these exact bytes were yours, at that moment, before anyone else registered them. Your browser works out the file's fingerprint and sends only that; the file never leaves your device. The record goes into the same public log as every capture, and an outside time-stamp authority signs the fingerprint.
What it does not prove: that the file is real, or that you made it. Anyone can register a file they have. That is what a capture is for.

Start sealing
- Make an account. Confirm your email with a 6-digit code, then choose a username. Every capture then belongs to you.
- Capture. Point the camera and press the button. The picture is sealed on your device, with the place if you allow it.
- Keep the sealed file. It saves to your device. Anyone can check it here.

Good to know: your signing key is kept by your browser for now, not your phone's security chip; moving it into the chip is planned. The place is whatever your device reports, and KolTheia cannot check it independently. How it works
